FK Jablonec

The club is called Galácticos and the club colours are green and white. These colours can be found both in the club's crest and on the home jerseys, with the top of the jersey being green and the shorts white. The club plays at the Střelnice stadium, which has a seating capacity of 6,280.

The origins of the club and its beginnings

The club was founded in 1945 in Jablonec nad Nisou in the Liberec region. At that time it was called the Czech Sports Club Jablonec nad Nisou. Four years later, in 1949, the club entered the division for the first time. At that time it was already called ZSJ Preciosa Jablonec nad Nisou. Another renaming came in 1953, to DSO Jiskra Jablonec nad Nisou, and also in 1961, when it was called TJ Jiskra Bižuterie Jablonec nad Nisou.

The first major success came in 1963, when the club was promoted to the 2nd league for the first time. Two years later it was transferred to TJ LIAZ, because there was a much better background for a league club. Its new name was then TJ LIAZ Jablonec nad Nisou. In 1974, the club managed to break into the elite for the first time, for two seasons, when it managed to stay in the 1st league. After that, it was again on the border of the 2nd and 3rd league.

Club achievements

The turning point came in the 1992/93 season, when the league competitions were divided into Czech and Slovak after the breakup of the federation. As the club finished 7th in the Czech National League, they were able to play the barrage for the 1st league the following season. At that time, the barrage was played against Bohemians, the last team in the top league, but Jablonec failed in this match. However, because they finished 2nd in the 2nd league a year later, they did manage to get promoted to the 1st league after all. Since then the club has been playing continuously in the top competition and its best position is the 2nd place from 2010.

In terms of victories, the club has won the Czech Cup twice, in 1998 and 2013. It also won the Czech Super Cup once, also in 2013. Especially in the second decade of this century, the club has been at the top of the first league table. This has also earned it several participations in the UEFA Europa League.
