Atlético Madrid Ends Autumn in Strong Form After Fourth Straight League Win

09.11.2025

Atlético Madrid managed another demanding match and, after a 3:1 victory over Levante, recorded its fourth consecutive league win. Diego Simeone’s team concluded the autumn part of the season in excellent form and caught up with Barcelona on points, although the Catalan side has a game in hand.

The home team started the match actively and dominated the opponent, yet had to rely on several crucial saves from Jan Oblak. The Slovenian goalkeeper supported the team in key moments and allowed Atlético to maintain its lead. The decisive goal came from Antoine Griezmann, who achieved his first league double in almost a year.

Despite the result, the home side’s performance was not flawless. The defense faltered several times, giving the visitors opportunities that could have made the match more dramatic. Simeone appeared dissatisfied after the game, even though his players collected nearly the maximum number of points from the last seven rounds.

Atlético can take pride in its strong starts to matches. In La Liga, the team has scored first in twelve consecutive games and is among three clubs that have found the net in every match. However, the problem remains in converting dominance into comfortable victories, as the team continues to drop points from promising positions.

Simeone is trying to find the ideal lineup, particularly on the left side of the pitch, where Ruggeri, Galán, Hancko, González, Almada, and Baena have been rotated. Baena was given a chance against Levante, but his performance was not as convincing as the coach had hoped. In contrast, the right side with Llorente and Giuliano Simeone appears more stable and provides greater attacking threat.

The Rojiblancos thus continue their positive run, even though their performances still raise questions. If Atlético manages to eliminate unnecessary mistakes and capitalize on its strong starts, the team could firmly establish itself among the main title contenders after the international break.
