AC Milan Drops Points After Two-Goal Lead Against Parma

09.11.2025

In Saturday’s Serie A match, AC Milan had to settle for a 2–2 draw away at Parma. The Rossoneri were two goals ahead before halftime thanks to strikes from Rafael Leao and Alexis Saelemaekers. However, disappointment followed as Parma equalized through Enrico Del Prato in the 62nd minute, depriving Milan of valuable points.

The draw came shortly after an important victory over AS Roma, making recent days highly unpredictable for coach Max Allegri’s squad. The match revealed several issues that the coach will need to address quickly.

Youssouf Fofana continues to struggle, and his form remains puzzling. Regardless of whether he plays in a two or three-man midfield, he fails to make a significant impact. His lack of defensive precision allowed the opposing runner to score, exposing a recurring weakness.

On the left side of defense, Pervis Estupinan once again failed to impress. Since arriving from Brighton, he has not yet convinced. In contrast, young Davide Bartesaghi has made a positive impression every time he has been given a chance, showing more confidence both defensively and offensively. It seems only a matter of time before he is preferred over his more experienced teammate.

Christopher Nkunku is still searching for his place in the team. Allegri uses him as a central striker, but the Frenchman is not a natural forward and his contribution remains limited. The club invested heavily in him, yet a loan move might prove beneficial for all parties.

Alexis Saelemaekers continues to demonstrate that he remains a key player for Milan. Even in matches where the team struggles, he delivers determined performances and stands out as one of the few who never give up. His consistent form strengthens his case for a contract extension and makes him one of the few certainties in an ever-changing squad.

The draw with Parma serves as a warning for AC Milan that even a two-goal lead may not be enough. If the team wants to remain in contention for the top positions, it must improve its concentration and maintain consistent performance throughout the entire match.
