According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Atlético Madrid is preparing to extend winger Giuliano Simeone’s contract until 2030. The agreement is reportedly close to completion, with an official announcement expected in the coming days.
Giuliano, who had been called up to the Argentine national team, did not travel with the squad for a friendly match in Angola. Along with Julián Álvarez and Nahuel Molina, he missed the vaccination against yellow fever and therefore remained in Madrid during the international break. This situation allowed the club’s management to finalize negotiations on the new deal.
Journalist David Medina from Marca reported that the young forward is expected to receive a well-deserved salary increase. Matteo Moretto added that the official confirmation could come by early December.
Giuliano Simeone earned the contract extension through his performances. Since his debut in La Liga, he has become an important part of the team coached by his father Diego Simeone. Last season he started as the fifth forward but ended up appearing in 26 league matches. This year he has developed into one of the most promising players in the Spanish league, featuring in 16 games across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing five assists.
His path to the current status was not easy. After returning from River Plate in 2020, he made his mark in Atlético’s academy, scoring 25 goals for the reserve team. He later went on loan to Zaragoza and Alavés, where he managed to restart his career after a serious leg injury. Today he is considered a key member of the first team.
The fast and tireless winger with a strong goal instinct has earned a contract that reflects his importance to the club. Giuliano Simeone will become one of Atlético’s highest-paid players, which represents recognition for his contribution and consistent performances in recent seasons.
