Juventus and Dušan Vlahović Postpone Contract Talks Until After 2025–26 Season

14.11.2025

New Juventus CEO Damien Comolli confirmed at his first meeting with Italian media that the club and striker Dušan Vlahović have agreed to postpone negotiations for a new contract until after the 2025–26 season. The decision aims to bring calm to the current campaign and allow both sides to better evaluate the situation.

Comolli described the agreement as a mutual understanding that opens the possibility of extending cooperation while clearly defining boundaries. Juventus wants to keep the player but is not willing to meet all of his agent’s demands. Vlahović’s current salary ranks among the highest in Serie A, and the club is maintaining a stricter financial policy.

The Italian daily Tuttosport reported that Juventus would be prepared to offer Vlahović a new deal worth around eight million euros per year, which is significantly less than his current twelve million. Even so, this amount would represent a considerable investment in a player still regarded as a key figure in attack, despite occasional inconsistency in performances.

The postponement also has practical significance. Comolli and coach Luciano Spalletti want first to assess how the new playing philosophy will affect Vlahović’s productivity and how the team performs in its pursuit of Champions League qualification. Failure to reach that competition could have a major impact on the club’s budget and therefore on its ability to negotiate contracts.

According to foreign media, major European clubs such as Bayern Munich and Tottenham are monitoring Vlahović’s situation. However, he is not yet in a position where he could leave on a free transfer. Juventus hopes he will become a symbol of the club’s new era and confirm his potential through consistent goal scoring.

The striker’s future remains open. If Vlahović maintains form and improves his productivity, he could secure a long-term place in the team even with a possible reduction in salary. For Juventus, it will be crucial to find balance between sporting ambitions and financial responsibility, which has become essential after recent years.
