Juventus Drops Points Again After Draw with Struggling Fiorentina

23.11.2025

Juventus failed to take advantage of an opportunity against the team at the bottom of the Serie A table and left Florence with only one point after a 1-1 draw. The match showed an unconvincing performance from the Turin side, which once again paid for its own mistakes and ineffective attack.

Fiorentina is experiencing an extremely difficult season. After the departure of coach Raffaele Palladino, the team dropped to last place and was still waiting for a victory after eleven rounds. Juventus, led by Luciano Spalletti, had an ideal chance to earn three points after the international break but again struggled with finishing and game organization.

The first half brought a controversial moment when, after a video review, the referee canceled a penalty for Juventus following a foul on Dušan Vlahović. The match was also interrupted for several minutes due to inappropriate chants from the stands. Juventus took the lead in stoppage time of the first half when Filip Kostić scored from distance after a deflected ball.

After the break, the visitors failed to maintain their lead. Shortly after halftime, Rolando Mandragora equalized with a well-placed long-range shot following a Juventus error in the build-up. Fiorentina then gained confidence and held the upper hand for several minutes, while Juventus struggled to find a way past David De Gea’s goal.

In the closing stages, the Turin players tried to score a decisive goal, but their attempts were ineffective. The closest chance came from Weston McKennie, whose header was saved by the home goalkeeper. A third consecutive draw means Spalletti’s team remains under pressure and must look for answers regarding form and productivity ahead of the upcoming Champions League match.

For Juventus, the draw with the league’s bottom team represents another disappointment. Instead of the expected improvement after the international break, the same issues appeared as in previous matches, including a lack of energy, inaccuracies, and lapses in concentration. Fiorentina, on the other hand, can take some confidence from earning a valuable point after a poor start to the season.
