Juventus players managed to win 3:2 on the field of Norwegian champion Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League group stage. After a very poor first half, the Italian team improved and, thanks to an excellent performance by young player Kenan Yildiz, succeeded in a key match that kept their qualification hopes alive.
The opening of the match belonged to the home side, who took advantage of the artificial surface and freezing conditions. Juventus struggled to escape the pressure and conceded after a series of mistakes following a corner kick. Goalkeeper Mattia Perin made a save, but the ball still ended up in the net, leaving the Bianconeri trailing at halftime.
After the break, a major turnaround came. Coach Luciano Spalletti sent Kenan Yildiz onto the pitch, and he immediately energized the attack. After his move, Loïs Openda equalized, and shortly after, Weston McKennie put Juventus ahead with a precise header following a cross from Fabio Miretti.
When it seemed that the visitors were in control, a penalty was awarded three minutes before the end after a foul by Juan Cabal. Home player Sondre Fet converted it, leveling the score again. Juventus, however, showed character when in added time Yildiz once more created danger, his shot was saved by goalkeeper Haiken but rebounded to Jonathan David, who finished into the net and secured a 3:2 victory.
Juventus thus celebrated its first European win of the season and earned three valuable points in the standings. Coach Spalletti praised the team’s fighting spirit and the energy of the young players who managed to turn the unfavorable situation around. The next step toward qualification awaits the Turin team in a home match against Cypriot side Pafos.
