Everton Football Club turned down Juventus' recent interest in striker Beto. According to British media, the club management was unwilling to let the player leave without an adequate replacement and demanded a high transfer fee that would justify a potential sale.
At the same time, Everton internally discussed the possible arrival of winger Edon Zhegrova, but negotiations have not progressed. The club does not plan to release Beto before the transfer deadline because he is the only experienced striker in the squad alongside young forward Theirno Barry.
Beto came on late in the match against Brighton over the weekend and managed to equalize for a final score of 1-1. This goal confirmed his importance to the team even though he has spent most of the season on the bench.
The Guinea-Bissau international has scored three goals in twenty-four Premier League appearances this season. Although he is not a regular starter, the coaching staff values his commitment and ability to influence games at crucial moments.
Everton has not signed any new players during the winter transfer window so far but is reportedly negotiating with Chelsea over a loan deal for talented winger Tyrique George. The club continues to look for ways to strengthen its attack without selling key players.
