The German club 1. FC Kaiserslautern has been in existence since 1900 and, in addition to football, is involved in other sports such as basketball, boxing, handball, field hockey, triathlon and athletics. They play their matches at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion, which boasts a capacity of around 50,000 seats. The stadium is named after the former captain of the German football team in the 1954 World Cup.

The home jerseys are predominantly red, with white vertical stripes on the jersey. The away jerseys are then all dark blue.
