The club was active in the top Turkish Süper Lig in 1959-64, 2007-08, 2009-11 and started its last season in 2012. Since then it has remained in the top league.

The Turkish entity is based in Malatya and was founded there in 1986. The club's colours are yellow, black and red, although they originally wore a combination of orange and green on their jerseys. The current club colours are found in the crest and on the home and away jerseys. At home they play in a yellow and red vertical stripe. Their stadium is the Malatya Arena, which holds 25,745 spectators.
