Their nickname is The Stones and their club colours are yellow and black. Outdoors they play in a combination of white and black. The original club was founded in 1897, but went bust in 1992 after the club was unable to financially manage in the Football League Fourth Division (the predecessor of the current League Two) and ceased operations there after three seasons. It should be added that they reached this fourth highest competition in English football by direct promotion from the Conference National, only the 3rd club in history.
More about Maidstone United FCThe club's nickname is The Glovers, and the club colours are green and yellow. These colours can also be found in the club crest. The jerseys for home games feature a combination of green along with white, in the form of a horizontal stripe. Their home stadium is Huish Park, which has a capacity for 9,565 spectators. The English club was founded in 1895 in the town of Yeovil in the metropolitan county of Somerset. At that time they were still called Yeovil Casuals FC, and in 1907 they merged with Petters United FC to form Yeovil & Petters United FC. The name was not changed to its present form until 1946.
