The nicknames of this club were The Dons, The Wombles and The Crazy Gang. The club colours are a combination of blue and yellow, which are part of the crest and home jerseys. The club was founded in 1889 in the south-west London borough of Merton. For a long time it played in the lower competitions, but after professionalisation it rose to the highest rungs of English football in 1985 and also managed to win the English Cup, in 1888. They beat then big club Liverpool 1-0.
More about AFC WimbledonBarnsley FC is a football team that was founded in 1887, but then still under the name Barnsley St. Peter's FC. Initially the club colour was blue, but fairly soon after in 1904 it was changed to red and white, which has lasted to the present day. They even reached the prestigious Premier League in the 1997/1998 season, but were immediately relegated and never returned to the English elite.
