The second most successful club in the history of the Bundesliga has the nicknames Die Borussen, Der BVB and Die Schwarzgelben (the yellow and black). The nicknames are Die Nullfünfer or Karnevalsverein, because the city of Mainz, where the club is based, is known as one of Germany's carnival cities.
