1. FC Kaiserslautern
The German club 1. FC Kaiserslautern has been in existence since 1900 and, in addition to football, is involved in other sports such as basketball, boxing, handball, field hockey, triathlon and athletics. They play their matches at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion, which boasts a capacity of around 50,000 seats. The stadium is named after the former captain of the German football team in the 1954 World Cup.

The full name of the club is 1. Fußball- und Sportverein Mainz 05. The nicknames are Die Nullfünfer or Karnevalsverein, because the city of Mainz, where the club is based, is known as one of Germany's carnival cities. During home matches, the "Narrhallamarsch", a well-known German carnival tune, is also played after every goal scored.
