Outside, the blue colours are more prevalent, even on the shorts, but the blue and white stripes on the chest remain with minor variations. They are at home at the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium offering a capacity of 14,234 seats. The club was founded in Istanbul in 1921. There are, of course, multiple Turkish teams in this large Turkish city with whom the club has local rivalries. The club was active in the top Turkish Süper Lig in 1959-64, 2007-08, 2009-11 and started its last season in 2012. Since then it has remained in the top league.
