The German football club, whose nicknames are Hansa, Hanseaten, Kogge, Hansa-Kogge or Ostseestädter, has blue, white and red as club colours. At home, it plays in a blue and white combination, with the away jerseys also adding red. Their sanctuary is the Ostseestadion, with a capacity of an equal 29,000 seats. The club was founded in 1965 and is based in the city of Rostock in northeastern Germany. The predecessor of this club was SC Empor Rostock.
