Galatasaray SK
Galatasaray SK (Galatasaray Spor Kulübü) is an Istanbul club active in a variety of sports, with football probably being the most famous. It is one of the traditional participants of the Turkish top league and perhaps not surprisingly, its biggest rivals are other clubs from Istanbul, namely Fenerbahçe SK and Beşiktaş JK.

The Turkish football club has Yeşil Şimşekler (Green Lightning) as its nickname. The club colours are green and black. The home jerseys are green with black vertical stripes and black shorts. Outdoors, they play mostly in white with club colour details on the shoulders. At home they are at İzmit Stadium with a capacity of 34,712 spectators. The club was founded in 1966 and is based in the city of İzmit, which can be found 100 kilometres east of İstanbul.
