Panionios FC

The Greek team Panionios F.C. was founded in 1890 (originally in Smyrna, after the war between Greece and Turkey it moved to Athens in the 1920s), so it is one of the oldest football teams not only in the Balkans, but in Europe in general. It plays in the Nea Smyrni stadium with a capacity of 11 700 spectators. It has triumphed twice in the national cup (1979 and 1998) and reached the quarter-finals in the last edition of the PVP (1998/1999). Not only football is played under the Panionios banner, but also basketball, volleyball and water polo.
