Alemannia Aachen, commonly known as "the Aacheners," is a German football club based in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia. The team was founded in 1900 and traditionally played its home matches at the historic Tivoli stadium, which was replaced by the New Tivoli in 2009. The new stadium retains the atmosphere and history of the original while providing modern facilities.
Although the club's historical golden era dates back to the early 1960s when they reached the final of the DFB-Pokal and subsequently played in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, Alemannia Aachen has mostly fluctuated between the second and third tiers of German football -- the 2. Bundesliga and 3. Liga, respectively. They even had brief stints in the top flight, the Bundesliga, showcasing their potential against the country's elite.
The team's colors are black and yellow, and they are known for their passionate fan base, which remains loyal and supportive despite the ups and downs of the club's performance. While Alemannia Aachen may not boast the same success as some of Germany's leading teams, their dedication to the sport and the tight-knit community of fans makes them a cherished part of the German football landscape.
