The nicknames are The Robins or Alty and the club colours are red, white and black. These colours are also seen on the home jerseys, which have red and white vertical stripes on the jersey itself, and wear black shorts to go with it. The away game is played in grey jerseys with red and white detailing. The stadium where this team plays its home games is called Moss Lane and has a capacity of 6,085 people. The founding of the club itself dates back to 1891 when it was established in Altrincham, a town located in the metropolitan county of Greater Manchester.
The club plays in the National League North, which is the 6th highest competition in English football. Of the higher domestic trophies, it is worth mentioning the 4th round of the English Cup in the 1985/86 season and winning the FA Trophy twice, in the 1977/78 and 1985/86 seasons, however these are all achievements of an earlier date. Of the more recent trophies, there are the regional ones in particular, which include the Cheshire Senior Cup, which they have won 7 times, most recently as part of the 2008/09 season.
