AS Nancy Lorraine

The team Association Sportive Nancy-Lorraine, sometimes referred to as ASNL or Les Chardons, was founded in 1967 and plays its home matches at the Stade Marcel Picot in Tomblaine, where the total capacity is 20,087 spectators. Nancy currently plays in France's second highest competition, in which it has won the title five times in the past (1975, 1990, 1998, 2005 and 2016), with one national (1978) and one league (2006) cup in its collection of achievements.

It was at Nancy that Michel Platini's illustrious career began, spending eight seasons there, while other famous names include Mustapha Hadji and Vincent Hognon, who later briefly led the team as head coach. Nancy's biggest rivals are Méty (FC Metz), and there are often clashes between fans in the derby. However, the first football club founded in the city was FC Nancy, as early as 1901 (but the team was dissolved in 1968).
