Bologna FC 1909

Among their nicknames they are named as I Veltri or Rossoblu (the Red and Blue). And by the latter nickname it is also obvious what their club colors are. So they are red and blue, which you can find both on the jerseys and in the emblem. They are at home at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara, which offers 38,279 seats. The surface here is of extremely high quality and, along with the Artemito Franchi Stadium in Florence, is considered one of the best pitches in Italy and Europe.

Milestones and club achievements

The football club was founded by Swiss dentist and football enthusiast Louis Rauch in 1909. Co-founders included Italians Guido Della Valle and Argio Gradi.

In the 1920s, the club was the most successful in Italy, under the leadership of former coach Hermann Falsner. The club has a total of 7 championship titles, which makes it one of the most successful in the top Italian competition, but they are quite old. All of them date back to the period between 1925 and 1964, when the club won its last league title to date.

Then came a period of more mediocre performances, which resulted in the first relegation to Serie B after the 1982/82 season. The situation was even worse in the first season of Serie B, which ended in relegation to the 3rd league. In the first half of the 1990s the club was about to go bankrupt, so it also played in the 3rd league then as well. However, it managed to return to Serie A for the 1995/96 season. In 1998, it celebrated victory on the international stage in the Intertoto Cup. He won the Italian Cup twice in the first half of the 1970s.

In recent years, the club has finished rather in the bottom half of the league table. It has also suffered relegation to Serie B again, last playing it in the 2014/15 season. Fans have also criticised some ill-advised sales of key players.
