They are nicknamed Drengene fra Vestegnen (Vestegnen boys). Vestegnen is a former part of the Copenhagen region west of Copenhagen and is therefore a football club from Denmark. Their club colours are blue and yellow and they play with a combination of these colours on their home jersey, and mostly blue away. The club was founded in 1964, specifically in the town of Brøndbyvester, which is part of the Copenhagen conurbation. At home they play at Brøndby Stadium, which is able to offer a capacity of 28,000 people, including 23,400 seats.
The club plays in the top domestic competition called Superliagen and is one of the most important clubs in Denmark. In fact, it has been successful at the highest level of Danish professional football 10 times, the first time in 1985 and the last time in 2005. It is also a seven-time winner of the Danish Cup, which it last won in the 2017/18 season. It has also appeared on European soil, for example playing in the semi-finals of the UEFA Cup in the 1990/91 season.
