They are called Die Adler (The Eagles), SGE (Sportgemeinde Eintracht) or Launische Diva. The club colours are red, black and white. They are at home at the Commerzbank-Arena, which currently bears this name for commercial reasons. The original name is Waldstadion. A capacity of 51,000 people is used for league matches.
The club plays the Frankfurt derby with local club FSV Frankfurt, whom they have not met many times in their history. In the 2011/12 season, it was the first time in almost 50 years. In the two matches Eintracht won by a wide margin. Another local rival is Kickers Offenbach.
The sports club was founded in 1899 in Frankfurt am Main in the state of Hesse. The original name was Frankfurter FC Viktoria 1899, which has changed many times over the years as the club has merged with three other clubs. The current name has been in use since 1969.
As is the case with many other German cubs, Eintracht is not just about football. It also has clubs in other sports such as gymnastics, athletics, rugby, volleyball, ice hockey and many others.
The club played in the Bundesliga for the first time in the 1963/64 season and started its current run in the 2012/13 season. It has one title from the top competition, and that was in 1959, so it was still in the pre-Bundesliga format.
Among his greatest achievements he can count winning the UEFA Cup, the current UEFA Europa League, which he won in the 1979/80 season. But he also had results in domestic league cups, celebrating 5 times triumphing in the DFB-Pokal Cup. The last time was recently, in the 2017/18 season.
