FC Metalurh Zaporizhzhia was a professional football club based in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine. The team was founded in 1935 and had a storied history within Ukrainian football. They played their home games at the Slavutych Arena, which had a seating capacity for around 12,000 spectators.
Throughout its history, Metalurh Zaporizhzhia experienced various degrees of success, with their best performances occurring during the late 1990s and early 2000s when they consistently finished in the upper half of the Ukrainian Premier League. The club was also known for its youth academy, which developed numerous talented players who went on to play for larger clubs and the Ukrainian national team.
However, despite a passionate fan base and a history of competitive play, FC Metalurh Zaporizhzhia faced financial difficulties over the years. The situation worsened after the political and economic instability in Ukraine that started in 2014. These financial problems ultimately led to the club's bankruptcy and dissolution in 2015.
