FC United of Manchester

FC United of Manchester, commonly known as FC United, is a community-based football club located in Manchester, England. The club was founded in 2005 by disenchanted supporters of Manchester United in the wake of Malcolm Glazer's controversial takeover, which led to a group of fans desiring a team that would better reflect their views and commitment to local community values.

As a member-owned club, it prides itself on democratic decision-making and inclusiveness, with one member, one vote being a core principle. FC United aims to function in a sustainable and ethical manner, often focusing on community work and projects alongside their footballing activities.

The club initially started in the North West Counties Football League but quickly progressed through the English football leagues' pyramid system. Their rise through the divisions saw them eventually reaching the National League North, the sixth tier of English football, although they've experienced both promotions and relegations along the way.

FC United plays their home games at Broadhurst Park, a purpose-built stadium opened in 2015 and located in Moston, north Manchester. The stadium has a capacity of around 4,400, reflecting the club's substantial support base, which is one of the largest in non-league football.
