FK Krasnodar is a Russian football club based in Krasnodar, a city in the southern part of the country. The club was founded relatively recently, in 2008, by Sergey Galitsky, a Russian billionaire who sought to establish a competitive football team in the region. FK Krasnodar plays its home matches at the Krasnodar Stadium, an impressive venue with a seating capacity of over 35,000 spectators.

The team's colors are predominantly green and black, which are featured on their home kit. FK Krasnodar quickly rose through the ranks of Russian football, gaining promotion to the Russian Premier League, the top tier of Russian football, in 2011. Since then, they have been a consistent presence in the upper echelons of the league, competing for European spots, and have even participated in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League, making some notable appearances there.
