FK Liepājas Metalurgs was a football team based in Liepāja, Latvia, that played in the Latvian Higher League. The club was established in 1997, succeeding the former club, Olimpija Liepāja. The name "Metalurgs" reflected the primary sponsor and influence behind the club—the local Liepāja steel company.
The team's colors were blue and white, and they played their home games at Daugava Stadium, which had a seating capacity for around 5,083 spectators. FK Liepājas Metalurgs quickly became one of the top teams in Latvian football, competing for league titles and participating in European competitions.
Over the years, FK Liepājas Metalurgs developed a reputation for having a strong youth system and providing a springboard for local talent to rise to prominence. They won several national championships and were runners-up on numerous occasions, making them one of the most successful clubs in the country during their active years.
Unfortunately, due to financial difficulties and issues with their main sponsor, the club dissolved in 2013. Its legacy continues with FK Liepāja, which was founded shortly after and took over as the primary football club in Liepāja.
