FK Příbram

The club is simply called Příbram, and their colour is green. It is then combined with black shorts on the home jerseys. Away they play in white or in white again with black shorts. At home they are at Na Litavka, with this stadium being known as Energon Arena for sponsorship reasons. It has a capacity of 9100 seats.

Historical development of the club and first successes

The club was founded in 1928 in Pribram in the Central Bohemia region. Specifically, it was founded in the town of Březové Hory, which is now part of Pribram. The original name of the club, SK Březové Hory, was also derived from this. The club played its very first match in 1929 against SK Slovan Lochovice. After the communist coup in 1948, the Příbram clubs merged to form SK Spartak Příbram and Baník Příbram, which is today's FK Příbram.

The former Baník Příbram played its first ever international match against Arsenal Kiev in 1960. Five years before that, the renovated Banik Pribram Mining Stadium was opened. In 1968, the club was promoted to the division for the first time, which was significantly contributed by the then playing coach Jiří Pešek. Until then, football was played at the regional level.

Further successes did not wait long and in 1969 the team was promoted to the 3rd league. In 1972, a new name came, namely TJ Uranové Doly Příbram. In the 1974/75 season the club was promoted to the 2nd league thanks to good results.

Merger and the first league

In 1996, the club merged with Dukla Praha, playing in the 2nd league under the name FC Dukla, and the club's reserve team played in Příbram. The historic promotion came in 1997/98, when the club was promoted to the First League and started playing in Pribram again. At that time it was renamed again, to FC Dukla Příbram.

In 2000, the club reached the Intertoto Cup, where it was stopped by Aston Villa of England. The club's results in the First League have been variable and its best position so far is 4th place from the 2000/01 season. In the first two decades of this century, it was also relegated twice for one season to League 2.
