Hungarian national football team has been waiting for more success for a long time, with the biggest recent success being qualification for EURO 2016 and a 13th place finish. However, the past was much better, in the 1950s they were widely regarded as the best national team in the world. They still hold the record for the most points scored in the Elo rankings, having scored 2230 in 1954.
Hungary has one third place from the European Championships, two silver medals from the World Championships and a complete collection of precious metals from the Olympic Games, which includes three golds and one silver and one bronze each. The greatest legend is undoubtedly Ferenc Puskás, one of the best players in history and the best shooter of the entire twentieth century.
