Ipswich Town FC was founded in 1878 in the eastern county of Suffolk. Their team colours are blue and white. They use the Portman Road stadium with a capacity of over 30,000 fans for their home games. They currently come here to watch English League Three matches.
In the history of English football, Ipswich Town FC has made a very interesting mark. In the 1961/1962 season, they managed to win the Premier League on their first attempt to qualify. However, a major slump followed and they were relegated after the 1963/1964 season after conceding 121 goals in 42 league games. Which is the worst record ever.
They returned to the first league and managed to stay at the top of the table. They've also had success in the cups. In the 1977/1978 season they were FA Cup winners and they didn't fall behind on the international stage either, as Ipswich Town FC were the best in the 1980/1981 UEFA Cup.
