Jaguares de Chiapas

Jaguares de Chiapas, also known simply as Chiapas F.C., was a Mexican professional football team based in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, Mexico. The team played in the Liga MX, the top tier of Mexican football, until its dissolution. Founded in 2002, the club's colors were orange, black, and white, and they were nicknamed "Los Jaguares."

The team played their home matches at the Estadio Víctor Manuel Reyna, which had a capacity of over 28,000 spectators. Despite being a relatively young club, Jaguares de Chiapas managed to make an impact in Mexican soccer, developing a passionate fan base in southern Mexico.

Jaguares achieved moderate success during their active years, occasionally qualifying for the playoffs (Liguilla) of the Mexican league and participating in international competitions such as the Copa Libertadores and the CONCACAF Champions League.

One of the hallmarks of the team was its commitment to promoting local talent from the state of Chiapas and the surrounding areas, offering opportunities for young players to develop within a professional setting.

However, financial challenges often plagued the team, leading to frequent changes in ownership and management. In 2017, the club faced severe economic issues and was subsequently dissolved. The franchise rights were sold, and the team was relocated, thus bringing the Jaguares de Chiapas' history to an unfortunate end. Their departure left a gap in Chiapas’ sporting landscape, but they remain a fond memory for their dedicated supporters and a notable part of Mexico's football history.
