This club from France is often referred to as Le MUC or simply Le Mans. Nicknames include MUC 72, Les Mucistes or Les Sang et Or (blood and gold). From the last nickname we can easily guess that the club colours are red and yellow. These colours are part of both the emblem and the home address, where red in particular is predominant. The away jersey is then blue with black shorts and details in the club colours.
They are at home in the MMArena stadium with a capacity of 25,064 spectators. The club's founding dates back to 1985, so it is a relatively young club, but mergers with other clubs led to its formation. As the name suggests, the club is based in the French city of Le Mans, the venue of the famous car races.
Due to financial problems, the club lost its professional license in 2013. Before that, however, it had played in the top domestic competition Ligue 1 and, before losing its licence, in Ligue 2, which was already the result of impending financial difficulties. However, they regained their licence and fought their way up to Ligue 2 in 2019.
