Lobos de la BUAP

Lobos de la BUAP, short for Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, was a professional football team based in Puebla, Mexico. The team was founded in 1967 and played its home matches at the Estadio Universitario BUAP, which has a capacity of approximately 20,000 spectators. Lobos BUAP was primarily associated with the public university of the same name, which supported and managed the club.

Lobos BUAP spent various seasons in the lower divisions of Mexican football, but they gained more attention after being promoted to Liga MX, the top division, for the 2017–2018 season following a successful stint in the Ascenso MX, which is the second tier of the Mexican football league system.

The team's crest featured a fierce wolf, representing the Lobos (wolves) nickname, and the colors of the university – blue and gold. They were known for their fighting spirit and their role in developing young talent from the university's sports programs.

Unfortunately, financial difficulties and unstable sporting performance led to the team's disbandment. In 2019, the club's Liga MX license was sold, and as a result, Lobos BUAP ceased operations in the top flight, with its last participation being the 2018–2019 season. The team's legacy lives on through the players who wore its colors and the fans who supported them passionately during their existence.
