The history of Modena FC dates back to 1912. A crucial point in the team's history is 2017, when they ran into major financial difficulties and had to close down. This was followed by the re-establishment of the team, but under the new name of Modena FC 2018. They play their home games at the Stadio Alberto Braglia with a capacity of over 21,000 fans.
They have played 28 seasons in the first league, the best in this respect being the 1946/1947 edition, when they finished third. Modena, therefore, are rather on the lower levels of Italian football. They haven't won any major trophies yet. The most valuable of their collection can be considered the Anglo-Italian Cup of 1981 and 1982, which also makes them the most successful team in the history of this competition.
