The Danish football club has as its nickname De Stribede (The Striped Ones) because they play in striped jerseys. These have blue and white vertical stripes at home, which in itself also signifies the club colours, which are just blue and white. The away side then adds a variation where they combine black and green. The home stadium is Nature Energy Park, which has a capacity of 15,790 seats.
As is evident from the name of the club, it was founded in the Danish city of Odense, which is located on the island of Fyn. The club was founded in 1887 and was founded as a cricket club, which was also the former name of Odense Cricketclub. After merging with the football and tennis clubs, it was renamed to the present Odense Boldclub.
It is a club that plays regularly in the highest Danish football competition, known in Danish as Superliagen, actually the Danish Super League.
