The Greek football club plays under the nickname Kροκόδειλοι (crocodiles). Their traditional club colours are green and white, with green predominating on the home jerseys. They then play outdoors in white. Their emblem features a flaming torch surrounded by an inscription with the club's name and year of foundation. The club was founded in 1963 in the town of Komotini in the north-east of Greece. The stadium of this football club is Komotini Municipal Stadium with a capacity of 6,198 seats.
Focusing on the club's modern history, it had a rather successful period from the 2008/09 season until the 2016/17 season. In that time it played a total of 6 times in the top domestic competition, the Super League. In the aforementioned 2008/09 season, they reached the top competition for the first time ever. However, after a relatively successful season, financial problems escalated in early 2017 and the team withdrew from the league after 12 games played. At the time, they were playing in the second highest competition. They are currently operating at regional level.
