Peru

The Peru national football jersey honours the Peruvian colours, which are red and white. Footballers representing Peru play in international football events, which include both the World Cup and the Copa América, the South American Football Championship. Peruvians play their international representative matches at the Estadio Nacional, and the national team itself falls under the Peruvian Football Federation.

If we first look at the participation of the Peruvian national team in the World Cup, there are historically five of them. The first time they looked here was in 1930, when they failed to advance out of the group. Their best success came on their second appearance, which was in 1970, when they were knocked out by Great Britain in the quarter-finals. In 1978 they finished in the 2nd round and then their last two participations were in 1982 and 2018, both times failing to advance out of the group. If we head to the Copa América, they have two titles from that football event, in 1939 and 1975. There are eight bronze medals, the last one from 2015.
