They are nicknamed purple and white, which makes it easy to tell that their club colours are purple and white. Both of these colours are represented in the club crest and on the home jerseys. At home, they play mostly in purple with white details and away it's exactly the opposite. They play at the Lotto Park stadium, which has a capacity for 22,500 spectators. The Belgian football club was founded in 1908 in the town of the same name, Anderlecht, in the Brussels region. The original name of the club was Sporting Club Anderlechtois.

The club operates within the Belgian First Division A, which is better known as the Jupiter Pro League for sponsorship reasons. It is Belgium's top league competition, where the club finished 6th overall in the 2019/20 first division table. It is the most successful football club in Belgium, having won the championship 34 times, the first time being in 1946/47 and the last so far in the 2016/17 season. It has also won the Belgian Cup 9 times and the Belgian Super Cup 13 times. He has played in the UEFA Champions League 22 times in 134 matches.
