The nickname of this English club is The Iron, which speaks for itself. The red club colour, which is complemented by light blue, is not surprising. This colour combination also makes up the home jersey, which has a red upper and light blue shorts. Outdoors, the club plays in a combination of lighter and darker green. Their home stadium is The Sands Venue Stadium, which holds a total of 9088 spectators. The club was founded back in 1899, in the town of Scunthorpe in the metropolitan county of Lincolnshire.
The club plays two local derbies with its rivals, the Humber derby and the Lincolnshire derby. However, the clubs involved in these derbies often do not play in the same competitions for many years and so do not meet for a long time. Returning to Scunthorpe United, they play in EFL League One, the 2nd division of the English Football League and the 3rd tier of English football overall. They finished first here in 1957/58 and 2006/07. It has currently been playing here since the 2014/15 season.
