Southampton FC

Their nickname is The Saints. The club colours are red and white, represented by vertical stripes on the jerseys. Since 2001 they have been at home at St. Mary's Stadium, which has a capacity of 32,505. It is the largest stadium in the South East of England.

They have a rivalry with Portsmouth FC, who are based in the city of the same name and are less than 30 miles away from Southampton. The club was founded in 1885 and was then called St. Mary's YMA FC. The name indicates that it was founded by the faithful of St. Mary's Church. The club changed its name several more times, and settled in its final form in 1897.
