The nicknames of this Italian football club include Aquilotti (eagles), Aquile (eagles) and also Bianconeri (black and white). The club colours are thus naturally black and white, with the home jersey being white with subtle black vertical stripes and black shorts. The away jersey has the colours reversed. They are at home at the Stadio Alberto Picco with a capacity of 10,336 spectators. The club was founded in 1906 by a Swiss businessman, in the town of La Spezia in Liguria, Italy.
The team's greatest success to date can be said to be its tenure in the top flight, which took place between the 1920/21 and 1924/25 seasons. The team's best finish in Italy's top competition was 8th place in the premier league table, during the 1922/23 season.
