The Italian club SSC Bari has existed since 1908 and during its more than a century-long history it has gone by several names such as AS Bari or FC Bari. They have spent quite a long time alternating participation in the top two domestic leagues, Serie A and Serie B. But also due to financial problems then followed a drop to the lower levels of Italian football.
In the first league, their best finish is seventh place from the 1946/1947 season. It was in the second league that they managed to become champions, the last time they did so being in the 2008/2009 season. Apart from that, however, SSC Bari have not achieved any other major trophies. Of some interest is that their Stadio San Nicola stadium with a capacity of 58,000 spectators was built for the 1990 World Cup.
