They are nicknamed The Gulls and their club colour is yellow or gold if you prefer. They play at home in yellow and black jerseys and away in a combination of white and black. They play their home games at Plainmoor Stadium, which seats 6,500 spectators. The origins of this English team date back to 1899. It was founded in the town of Torquay in the metropolitan county of Devon.
The team currently plays in one of the National League divisions, in this case the National League South. It is the sixth highest tier of the English league system. They have triumphed twice in the local Devon Senior Cup, in the distant past in the seasons 1910/11 and 1921/22. They have appeared in the 4th round of the English Cup 7 times, specifically in the seasons 1948/49, 1954/55, 1970/71, 1982/83, 1989/90, 2008/09 and 2010/11. Four times after that they have also been in the 3rd round of the League Cup, specifically in the seasons 1967/68, 1971/72, 1975/76 and 1976/77.
