Widzew Lodz

Widzew Łódź is a storied Polish football club based in Łódź, one of the largest cities in Poland. Founded on November 5, 1910, the club has a rich history and strong working-class roots, traditionally garnering support from the textile factory workers prevalent in the area.

Throughout its history, Widzew Łódź has been successful on the national stage, winning the Polish league championship four times, with their golden era occurring in the late 1970s and early 1980s. They have also had several runs in European competitions, most notably reaching the semifinals of the European Cup in the 1982-83 season, before falling to Juventus.

Widzew's colors are red and white, and they have a fierce rivalry with ŁKS Łódź, the other main team from the city, with their matches known as the Łódź derby. The intensity of the derby is one of the biggest in Polish football, fueled by both teams' passionate supporters.
