The football team in the English seaside town of Blackpool was founded in 1887. The club has gradually tried different levels of English football, having played in the Premier League, but most of their time has been spent in the lower tiers. The Bloomfield Road stadium where they play their home games has a capacity of over 16,000 football fans.
More about Blackpool FCTheir nickname is The Stones and their club colours are yellow and black. Outdoors they play in a combination of white and black. The original club was founded in 1897, but went bust in 1992 after the club was unable to financially manage in the Football League Fourth Division (the predecessor of the current League Two) and ceased operations there after three seasons. It should be added that they reached this fourth highest competition in English football by direct promotion from the Conference National, only the 3rd club in history.
