The German football club is known by its fans as Energie, but also has nicknames including Die Lausitzer and Ultima Raka. The club colours are red and white, with red elements predominating on the home jersey with white shorts and then white predominating on the away jersey with red shorts. The club is based in the Brandenburg city of Cottbus, where it was founded in 1966, following the reform of East German football.
