The Andalusian team, which played in the Champions League in the 2012/2013 season - their journey in Europe's most prestigious cup competition ended in the quarter-finals. Málaga CF plays its home games at La Rosaleda Stadium, which has a capacity of 30,044 fans and is currently owned by Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani. The club first appeared on the football map in 1904, and fans will know it as Los Malaguistas or Los Blanquiazules, a reference to the club's colours of white and blue.
More about Málaga CFSpanish team Sporting de Gijón was founded in 1905. One interesting fact is that their stadium, Estadio El Molinón, is the oldest ever in Spain where professional football is played. Opened in 1908, it can offer a sporting spectacle to more than 29,000 spectators. Although they have played in the first league, they have not been able to win many trophies. Their greatest achievements are a second place finish in the top flight from the 1978/1979 season and a double final appearance in the prestigious Copa del Rey in 1981 and 1982.
