The history of the Italian club Calcio Catania dates back to 1929, when they managed to play in the top Italian league. Here, their best finish was eighth position, which they achieved several times, most recently in the 2012/2013 season. However, after the following season, the team was relegated to Italy's third league, Serie C, due to a corruption scandal where they were supposed to buy games for keeps.
More about Calcio CataniaTheir nicknames are I Giallorossi (the yellow-red ones), I Salentini (after the name of the region) or I Lupi (the wolves). The club colours are, of course, yellow and red. Home games are played at the Stadio Via del Mare, which has a capacity of 33,876 people. It is a multi-purpose stadium, but usually football matches are played there.
