The current name has only been valid since 1974, but the predecessor of today's Feyenoord Rotterdam was founded in 1908 under the name Wilhelmina. One of the Netherlands' most famous clubs won the European Champions Cup in 1970 and has twice won the prestigious UEFA Cup (1974 and 2002). The 15-time winner of the Dutch top competition plays at the De Kuip stadium, which has a capacity of 51,137 spectators.
More about Feyenoord RotterdamFC Shakhtar Donetsk is the best Ukrainian football club of recent years, having regularly finished first or second in the table over the past quarter of a century. The team from the east of the country is located in a heavily industrial area where many coal mines can also be found. This is reflected in the team name itself as shakhtar translates to miner. This reference was incorporated into the name by several sports clubs during the USSR era.
